Our Mission

MISSION STATEMENT

JUSTICE FOR JUNIORS, under the Inter-University Chaplaincy Social Justice Service, IUCSJS, is dedicated to addressing juvenile recidivism in the District of Columbia by offering mentoring, tutorial visitation services to juveniles returning to the community, in subjects such as ethics, education, and faith. We hope to lay a foundation for disadvantaged youth to gain the skills, hope, and sense of community needed to live a life without crime.

How To Help

Interested in becoming a Mentor for local youth in Juvenile Detention Centers? We are looking for dedicated individuals looking to spend their Saturday afternoons building strong personal relationships with these youth who are often underprivileged and do not receive visitors. We are looking to help them get through these hard times and give them the tools they need to re-enter society once their sentences are up.

If you would rather stay on campus than go to the local Juvenile Detention Center, we are also working with local DC schools to bring underprivileged youth here to American University for tutoring and mentoring on Saturday afternoons.

If you are interested in getting involved please join this facebook group for updates and send it to your friends! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=307097574650
